Gaping windows lean over an antique street in the Trastevere in Rome. I painted an oil sketch of this sitting in a doorway but was interrupted by a woman who was less than impressed when she returned to find an English bloke squatting in the shadows staring at the opposite wall. I really don't blame her. There was a lot of flamboyant Roman gesticulating before I decided it was prudent to flee the scene.
